Happy New Year! I feel like crap.
Runny nose, sore throat, headache… these are not feelings that inspire me to put on something sparkly and hit the town.
We’ll see. Maybe a nap and some advil will have me feeling better.

I WAS looking forward to it but then I started feeling lazy and comfy and now the idea of putting on a dress and socializing instead of sitting at home drinking wine and watching MST3K sounds exhausting.

I suspect this is because dogkind has not mastered the wheel and he resents braggy humans who show off the technology.
This means he hates bicyclists and skateboarders, as well as- and embarrassingly- small children in strollers.

Haha… well, I think you know by now that I like to make these sort of proclamations from time to time. I’m sure I’ll be back to bread pudding scarfing and wine guzzling by Thursday.
Time to de-lump
After many cookies, lots-o-cheese, much Christmas ham, bread pudding, pie, cobbler and roughly 300 glasses of wine, I feel in need of a post Christmas detox.
Not one of those crazy people detoxes where you drink lemon juice and cayenne pepper and give yourself an enema every morning! Those are for people who like punishing themselves and who also believe in magic.

I don’t LOVE Christmas.
About 35% of me likes it. I like having a pretty tree. I like Christmas music. I like some of the food associated with it. I like some of the family time. I like getting a nice gift or two.
64% of me hates it. I hate all the running around to different stores. I hate not having enough money to get the gifts for people that I’d like to. I hate spending days...

Okay. Not really. They’re wonderful. But when this project is over I’ll need a month or two before I can really appreciate them again.
How my day's gone:
Leave the house at 9:15ish am
Decide to drive to a Walgreens that’s rather out of the way because there’s a Macy’s near there and I thought I might just go there afterwards
Get to Walgreens, start to order picture prints on their little kiosk. Realize that they’re almost twice the price as prints from Rite Aid. Decide to bag it.
Forget about the Macy’s idea.

J’s brother and his girlfriend’s annual Christmas party on Saturday and this year’s theme is white. We’re supposed to wear all white.

Our bathroom sink drain is totally clogged. I bought a snake and attempted to clear it out but it didn’t work. If anything, it made it worse. Drain snaking is an art that I do not have any talent for.
So, I guess I need to call our landlord…
