Oh, and I've recently taken up knitting.
You know how it goes on a dairy. A lot of girls. Even our amazing Farmery team- Laura, Alex & Marie are all woman. SO. We got another little buck for luke. I mean, for the girl goats. And to keep Bronx company. Meet our newest little Billy. We did not want him to be lonely, so he came with two of his doeling farm mates. You’ll meet them soon too, promise.

Excellent question.
It will depend a lot on the personality of the goat and what seems to fit them. Names that immediately come to mind: Talulah, Delilah, Eugene…
We’ll definitely have to name one Abraham Lincoln, since goats have an innate sense of democracy. That’s why they’re known as as natures presidents.

I’m really excited to have sent out so many of our goat milk caramels into the world in the past few weeks. Thanks for being fans! Orion, Fern, Gertrude, Manhattan and Cicada are totally jazzed about it too. A couple new stores we are really excited about selling our caramels in: Darien Cheese & Fine Foods in Darien, CT and at Shubies in Marblehead, Ma.

Ever since I made bagels on her recommendation a few years ago, I’ve been a huge fan of Jennifer Reese. She’s just so practical. Among many other things, this book contains information on her experiences with goat keeping, so you know I have to have it.
The Colette Sewing Handbook: Inspired Styles and Classic Techniques for the New Seamstress
I emphasize the “new seamstress” part, because that is definitely me. Or rather… I’ve been sewing for a long time technically, but I’m really no good at it and I’ve never made anything that isn’t fundamentally crappy. And I’ve always thought Colette patterns were really cute, so I think this would be a fun book.
A great gift to go with this book? A sewing machine. Haha
