Oh, and I've recently taken up knitting.

No! At least I don’t think so…!
The thing that I found with knitting is that, while a lot of the techniques seem complicated, they’re actually really simple! There are so many excellent knitting videos on youtube. You can find a demo for anything you need.
Also… I was really obsessed with it all fall. I spent an absurd amount of time knitting. Time that I really don’t have now, so my knitting career has slowed down to a crawl. I still want to knit a sweater but it think it will be quite awhile before I can tackle that.

Scarf I knit for my step mom! This is probably the fanciest thing I’ve knit yet. I’m thinking, now that Christmas is over, I might try knitting myself a sweater!!!

So. I learned to use Double Pointed Needles and knit myself some very simple mitts. DPNs- not as hard as I’d feared. I find this is true of basically every new knitting technique I attempt. Knitting is so gratifying!

Improvising little knit leaves made from leftover yarn. Some are cuter than others… I’m thinking maybe I could make a cute wreath out of them?

So, I decided to abandon intarsia and go with Fair Isle instead for the polka dot scarf. I’m knitting it on circular needles and when it’s finished I’ll sew up the sides and ends so that it lays flat.
I’m loving how it’s turning out. Fair Isle is easy!
